the way to set these problems up is actually super easy, i usually stink at math but these are pretty easy for me. so here ya
how they teach it in class, you'd normally set it up like this: , (you might want to go ahead and set it up like that just to be safe, it's up to you), but in the end all your doing is cross-multiplying and dividing. so let me show you an easier way that i use:
now i usually just multiply the whole numbers that are across from each other, so as you can see, 4.2 and 5 are across from each other (diagonally). when you multiply those together you get 21.
now you divide 21 by 6. you do that because 6 is across from x, and by dividing you'll get x by itself. so x=3.5
hope that isn't super confusing lol
the area of this figure is 50 cm
6 cm plus 6 cm equals 12 cm.
12 cm plus 7 cm equals 19 cm.
19 cm plus 10 equals 29 cm.
29 cm plus 21 equals 50 cm.
the classes cost $80. so when you start with 0 classes you have spent $0. but each month you add $80.
so the dollars you spend is calculated by multiplying the rate $80 by the number of months m. the equation is d=80m.
